Former Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) attacking midfielder, Soga Sambo, has declared that he is ready to stick to Globacom Premier League newcomer, Kwara United.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away to Finnish club, FC Inter Turku in the off-season, but he has decided to stay for the ongoing season.
Sambo, a former Golden Eaglets’ player, pledged his immediate future to the Ilorin club saying that he wants to help the side in winning a laurel in the 2009/2010 campaign.
“At times as a former international you have to play in the local league. I am happy to be part of this club (Kwara United) and I will give my best so that we can win trophies,” he said.
The ex-ASEC Mimosas’ man is also pleased with the way that Kwara United started off with the season by securing a point at Gateway Football Club.
Sambo, who turns 24 next month, is hoping he would play a part in Kwara United’s chase for a continental spot this season.
The petite player is also confident that the crop of players in the fold of Kwara United are capable of ending the ongoing season on a high.
However, the former Mamelodi Sundowns’ player knows that the road to winning a continental place is still far away.
