Enyimba Ready For Title Challenge - Emordi

Enyimba head coach, Okey Emordi, is confident that his side is capable of challenging for the Globacom Premier League trophy this season.
The former Enugu Rangers’ coach told Naijaligue.blogspot.com the Peoples Elephant is keen to end a two-season run without winning the Premier League.
Enyimba last won the Globacom Premier League in the 2006/2007 season. Before that, the Peoples Elephant had won the title four times in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005.
Emordi is in no doubt that the five-time Nigerian champion is talented enough to return to its glory days that ensured that it won four league titles within five seasons.
“Like every other club in the Premier League, we are challenging for the trophy. No club will tell you that they are just in the league to play or complete the number. And no club will tell you that they are in the league to battle relegation. Remember that Enyimba is a club with a winning tradition and mentality and since I left the club more than three or four years ago that attitude has not changed at all.
“This season we have a good squad that is capable of fighting for the league. In the last two seasons, Enyimba have not won the league and it is not because they are not a good side but at times every good side have their own bad days and bad periods. Now we are working hard to make sure that this season will be different,” Emordi said.
