Bosso Finally Out Of The Woods

Troubled Wikki Tourist head coach, Ladan Bosso, appears to have finally earned himself a reprieve to remain in charge of the Bauchi-based Globacom Premier League club after he was slammed with a four-match ultimatum by the club last month.

Chairman of the club, Patrick Pascal, told Naijaligue.blogspot.com that Bosso had passed the storm and would keep his job.

However, he added that the Kogi State-born coach knows the target of the club for the ongoing season, which is to win the Premier League trophy. After grabbing three draws against Heartland Football Club (0 – 0), Sharks Football Club (1 – 1) and Zamfara United (0 – 0), Bosso led his side a comfortable 2 – 0 win over visiting Gombe United with goals from Ahmed Aliyu and Rabiu Baita last Saturday, Bosso would remain in charge at Wikki Tourist.

“He has made it through the four-match ban and we (the club executive board) will meet on Tuesday to discuss the matter and others affecting the club. But Bosso still remains our coach and nothing has changed. “We have also made it clear to him from the start of our target for the season. Wikki Tourist wants to win the league and wish him the best throughout the season,” Pascal said.

However, the man in the centre of the whole ultimatum saga, Bosso, exuded with confidence when Naijaligue.blogspot.com spoke to him about scaling the hurdle at Wikki Tourist.

The former Flying Eagles’ coach said he was confident from the outset of the target handed him by the club that he would pass and retain his job. Bosso, who has spent five seasons at Wikki, wants to guide the Bauchi club to a title this season or a continental place in one of CAF’s club competitions.

“I did not have any doubt about myself when I was told that I had four matches to prove myself. Now that is over and I want to concentrate on helping this club do well this season and I believe we still have the chance of winning the league and even qualifying for the continent,” he said.
