NPL Transfer Window Re-opens Next Week


By the start of next week, the transfer window of the Globacom Premier League would be thrown open, Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands.
Head, Competitions of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL), Tunji Babalola, hinted that the transfer window re-opens next Monday after the conclusion of Week Nine games this weekend.
The NPL Head of Competitions also disclosed to Naijaligue.blogspot.com that the window would be opened for just five working days, which is one week between next Monday and Friday.
“The transfer window is re-opening by Monday, December 7 and close by Friday, December 11. It is just for one week, as it would afford all the 20 clubs to do their deals and strengthen their sides,” Babalola told Naijaligue.blogspot.com during the week.
Already some of the clubs are busy discussing with prospective players and among the clubs are champion, Bayelsa United, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Warri Wolves, Sharks Football Club and Kano Pillars.
These clubs may have already agreed to lure players over to their folds and would use the one week to conclude the deals.
Titleholder, Bayelsa United confirmed that it is rounding off talks with three players, according to its chairman, Victor Rumson Baribote.
The three players Bayelsa United is chasing are John Nnam (with Rangers), Efe Ambrose (with Kaduna United) and John George (with Lobi Stars).
Another club already riding high this season, Warri Wolves is close to signing John Owoeri from Heartland Football Club.
Shooting Stars has also indicated interest in recruiting new players as well when the window re-opens following the statement of its coach, Phillip Boamah, last week in Ibadan after failing to kill off Ocean Boys.
However, former champion, Kano Pillars would the opportunity to seal a deal for Chadian striker, Abubakar Tchalet.
Naijaligue.blogspot.com also understands that the management of Sharks FC is considering strengthening following its poor string of results and a number of players could be shown the exit door after the trip to Kaduna United this weekend.
The picture of the ownership of the players in the Premier League would be clearer by the end of next week.
