With litigation threatening the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) election from holding, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is considering extending the tenure of outgoing Premier League chairman, Oyuki Obaseki, Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands.
Talks of the move reached Naijaligue.blogspot.com that the football federation is not pleased with the vacuum left in the administration of the Premier League, which is now in the care of the NPL Executive Secretary, Alhassan Yakmut.
The federation, it was learnt, does not subscribe to the top-flight being run by just one man, hence its consideration of extending the tenure of Obaseki’s board since litigants, Barrister Ray Nnaji and Dr. Sam Sam Jaja, have refused to withdraw their cases from the law courts.
It is likely that the decision to recall Obaseki’s board, whose tenure elapsed this month, would be made this week in Abuja .
