No Tenure Extension For Obaseki’s Board

Indications have emerged that the tenure of Oyuki Obaseki with the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) would not be extended beyond March 15 after it was dissolved by the Premier League congress.
Some members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are said to have kicked against the move mooted recently by bigwigs of the football federation in a meeting in Abuja.
Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands that the National Sports Commission (NSC), which is the sports ministry in Nigeria, frowns at the idea of recalling Obaseki’s board.
The Director of Sports in the ministry, Dr. Patrick Ekeji, met with litigants, Barrister Ray Nnaji and Dr. Sam Sam Jaja, to resolve the impasse in the NPL Election and stated that he wants election into the Premier League board to hold.
This development means that Obaseki’s tenure would not be extended leaving the secretariat headed by Alhassan Yakmut in charge of the Premier League for the time being until an election is conducted.
