Adepoju May Handle 3SC Till End Of Season

With divergent views rocking the Jericho secretariat of Premier League side, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), over the appointment of a new head coach for the club, it appears that its General Manager, Mutiu Adepoju, could hold forte as coach till end of this season.
In an exclusive interview with Naijaligue.blogspot.com on Thursday morning from his base in Ibadan, Adepoju, who also doubles as the club’s Technical Director, hinted that the Oluyole Warriors has received several applications from coaches across the country keen on handling the team.
Adepoju also disclosed that some people within the club had advised against bringing in a new coach since the league is just 12 matches from rounding off, adding that the management of Shooting Stars is yet to make a decision regarding the issue.
“There are just 12 matches to go in the league for this season. Already we have lots of coaches interested in the job and have submitted applications. But we have been advised by some people that we should wait concerning appointing a new coach now. Sincerely nothing has been reached and very soon we will be looking into the matter,” Adepoju promised.
When prodded further on whether he would remain in charge till end of the season, the former Nigeria international simply said: “Well if you say so or if you interprete it that way. But we will take a decision on that.”
The interim coach of Shooting Stars is, however, more concerned with the club’s weekend game against Lobi Stars.
“Our focus now is the match for this weekend against Lobi Stars. We want to make sure that we win that game so that we will brighten our chances of remaining in the Premier League next season. So, from there we can continue to build for the coming games and next season,” he told Naijaligue.blogspot.com.
