Dolphin Fancies Finishing In Top Three

After securing a one-nil triumph in a rescheduled league game over Heartland Football Club last Thursday at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt, Dolphin Football Club is still hoping to end up as one of the top three sides this season.
Head coach of the club, Stanley Eguma, said having seen his side climb into eighth place on the Premier League log, there is still a chance of catching up with the top three sides.
“It is good that we have climbed into the top 10 of the league table now. Since the start of the league season, we have not been really convincing when you look at the kind of results we have picked up. Most times we have outplayed our opponents but ended up losing, which has not been good for us.
“But I believe we can work on our attitude on the pitch and improve so that we can catch up with the leading clubs in this season’s campaign. We need to improve especially in our away games where we have been poor all season. If that happens, then we have a good chance of finishing in the top three by the end of the season,” Eguma said in an interview with Naijaligue.blogspot.com.
Dolphin is one of 12 clubs in the Premier League, which away losses has hit double figures.
The others are Sunshine Stars, Niger Tornadoes, Kaduna United, Gombe United, Zamfara United, Ranch Bees, Bayelsa United, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Sharks Football Club, Gateway Football Club, Ocean Boys and Wikki Tourist.
However, Eguma is confident that his side is capable of turning things around with just 10 games remaining till the end of the season.
The Dolphin manager already has an eye on the trip to Minna this weekend where his team would face Niger Tornadoes at the Bako Kontagora Stadium.
“Losing 12 games on the road is not good. But we will continue to work hard with the team to change things before the end of the season. There are 10 more matches to play for, and we will give our best in those games. But first, our focus is on the game with Niger Tornadoes this weekend,” he said.
