Yusuf: I’m Happy To Win Monthly Award Again

Kano Pillars’ head coach, Salisu Yusuf, has expressed happiness over being named as Manager of the Month in March by Naijaligue.blogspot.com and Naijapremierleague.com.
Yusuf is winning the Naija Premier League Online Monthly Award for Managers for the second time in three months since inception in January this year.
The former Lobi Stars’ coach could not hide in his excitement in a telephone interview when he said winning the award for the second time would spur him on to give his best and make sure that the Kano club wins its second title by the end of the season.
But Yusuf, who was sacked by Lobi Stars last season before he returned to Kano Pillars at the start of this season, halted to hand the recognition to his backroom staff which he described as steadfast in this season’s title race.
“I am happy to win this award again. It shows that Kano Pillars is doing well and that is why I will say that the award is not just for me alone but also for the other coaches at the club, who have been very supportive. Also the players and the management of the club as well as the supporters, who have done their best by always coming out to support the team.
“But sincerely I am happy with this award. It will make only work hard and also give my best to make sure that we win the league this season. We have a good chance to win the title this season and we will continue to fight till the end,” Yusuf said.
The Kano Pillars is also excited that his side is in pole position at the moment until Enyimba plays Heartland on Thursday in Owerri in a rescheduled game.
Yusuf also has an eye focused on his side’s home game against Niger Tornadoes on Saturday.
“I am looking forward to our game on Saturday against Niger Tornadoes because that is a game we must win to continue to remain on top. But at the same time, I will wait (till Thursday) to hear what happens in the game between Enyimba and Heartland to know where will be. But for now, we will concentrate on planning for our next match (against Niger Tornadoes on Saturday),” said Yusuf.
