The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) has handed a stiff sanction to league leader, Kano Pillars, by ordering the club to play its remaining home matches at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
This was revealed in a statement from the Premier League Head of Competition, Tunji Babalola, made available to Naijaligue.blogspot.com on Monday afternoon.
The development means that Kano Pillars and Ranch Bees would share the stadium in Calabar as home ground for the remainder of the season.
The Kano club has also been fined the sum of N1.8 million and has been given the directive to pay before June 5.
NPL stated that N800,000 of the fine would serve as compensation fees to the centre referee, Gabriel Adigwe from Lagos Referees Council and his assistants as well as the match commissioner.
The Premier League also requested that the management of the former champion fishes out the fans behind the attacks on the visiting team, Dolphin Football Club and match officials.
