Executive Chairman of Enyimba of Aba, Felix Anyansi Agwu, is not satisfied with just emerging the Premier League champion for the just ended season as he has told all that cares to hear that his ambition this season was to be a treble champion.
In a chat after his team was crowned champion of Nigeria Premier League last Wednesday courtesy of a 2-1 win over closest rival, Kano Pillars, at Aba , the astute football administrator, said that he was aiming to win the Federation cup as well as the CAF Confederations cup for which his side was already in the group stage.
"I must say that I am very happy with the exploits of my team this season which has led us to winning our sixth league trophy since I mounted the saddle as chairman. It is very good for us all here in the team but I must state that we are not resting on our oars as we are still pushing hard to annex the trophies in the other two competitions that we are participating. It will do us a lot of good to win all that is at stake this year," enthused the youthful administrator.
Agwu further stated: "The season has not been an easy one and for us be champions, we deserve the commendation of every football lover. Kano Pillars gave us a good fight but we stood our ground and that is what champions are made of.
"I hope that the new NPL board led by Davidson Owumi, will improve upon what we have seen this season. I trust he can do it."
