Belgian coach, Maurice Cooreman, has denied report that he has formally joined Premier League side, Warri Wolves, from Kaduna United.
Cooreman, who is familiar with the Nigerian football club terrain, said he is still the Kaduna United head coach after leading the side to the FA Cup final (now Federation Cup) on Sunday.
“I am still the coach of Kaduna United as you can see,” he declared.
But it is likely that Cooreman, who has managed Enyimba, Ocean Boys, Bendel Insurance and Gabros International Football Club in the past, could be lured to Warri at the start of the season.
It is believed that it is the impressive run of Kaduna United in the Federation Cup that is keeping Cooreman holed in the dugout of the side since it means that his contract does not expire until after the cup competition.
Warri Wolves’ General Manager, Media, Timi Ebikagboro, did not disclose if Cooreman was in the picture to replace former coach, Lawrence Akpokona.
He explained that Cooreman is still coach of Kaduna United.
“He is not our coach but coach of Kaduna United. So we cannot say he is our coach when he is actually not,” Ebikagboro told Naijaligue.blogspot.com by weighing each word he applied in dealing with the development.
