The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) derby between Dolphins and Sharks will now hold on Sunday.
The game was billed to be played on Saturday but local elections in Rivers State, where both sides are based has now occasioned a shift in the date.
The game will was also no longer to be aired live on SS9 as the Heartland versus Warri Wolves encounter will instead be aired from Owerri.
“We were informed late of the change of the date but it will not affect the quality of the game,” Manager of Dolphins, Stanley Eguma told SuperSport.com.
Dolphins are still missing two of their key men, Chidi Osuchukwu and Abduljelil Ajagun who have yet to join up with the rest of the squad following their participation at the 2010 African Youth Championships (AYC) in South Africa.
“We are not happy that the two players have not joined us. But we have quality replacements who are set to do the business against Sharks,” he said.
Sharks coach, John Obuh, who also doubles as Nigeria’s Under20 football coach is back from national duty and his presence is sure to fire up his lads to perform at their optimal level.
Dolphins are ensconced at the summit of the NPL log with 47 points games while Sharks, having played a game less, are 10 points adrift of the leaders.
