NPL Sets Up Panel To Amend League Rules

The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) has decided to review the existing rules and regulation governing the top-flight division in the country following the irregularities that marred the just-concluded season.
Premier League chairman, Davidson Owumi, said a committee has been set up to make amendments to the existing rules of the elite division in Nigeria.
The committee is made up of seven members, according to the NPL chief.
“If we have to move forward, then we should not be afraid to take the decisions and do right thing,” said Owumi in a statement.
The Committee has Brigadier General Emma Okaro (rtd) as chairman with Barrister Isaac Danladi as vice chairman.
Other members of the committee are Paul Bassey, O.B.A Onigbinde, Dr Abu Mallam, chairman of Niger Tornadoes, Suleiman David and the NPL Executive Secretary, Alhassan Yakmut.
Owumi also revealed that the committee would meet in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja in a fortnight to collate their views.
Already copies of the rules and regulation of the Premier League have been sent to members of the committee.
