Rising from its fourth board meeting, the NPL noted that considering the pre-season activities and other related events, it has approved the date as kick off for the new season.
It also noted that the star match will be announced later after the draws during the Super Four in Ijebu Ode.
The star match will hold that day, while other matches will be played the next day.
Chairman of the Premier League, Davidson Owumi said that the body is working seriously to make sure that the date is not changed.
"We are going to make sure that we put everything in place so that we can start on that day. I promise that a lot of things will change next season because we intend to bring back the glamour in the Premier League," Owumi said.
