Nigeria Premier League record top scorer, Ahmed Musa, could be in a matter of days be on his way to England, where he might have the chance to train with Stoke City before he moves to Dutch club, VVV-Venlo.
The teenage striker’s minder, Ibrahim Ahmed, told Naijaligue.blogspot.com that a football agent based in Europe has been contacted to help find a team, where the player will be exposed to better training facilities.
Ahmed, who owns Aminchi Football Academy based in Bukuru area of Plateau State, revealed that the agent will open talks with the English Premier League (EPL) side for the arrangement.
He also disclosed that another unnamed English club is being considered as an option for Musa’s training arrangement.
“Our agent is looking at getting a club for him to attach with in England before he moves to Holland. Already Stoke City is one club that is being considered but nothing has happened yet and there is also another club in England that we will be talking with,” he explained.
Ahmed added that Musa will not be returning to Kano Pillars after it emerged that he will have to wait till early October when he completes 18 to sign a professional contract with VVV-Venlo.
The Aminchi Football Academy owner said Musa will be training under the supervision of coaches at the academy for the time being before he moves to England for a three-week training programme.
It will be recalled that Musa’s three-year contract with VVV-Venlo suffered a hitch when it emerged that he could not get a transfer clearance until he turns 18, according to FIFA rules.
