Players’ strike averted at Super Four

A planned walk out by players of Enyimba was prevented from taking place at the Super Four in Ijebu-Ode ahead of today’s final day, Naijaligue.blogspot.com can reveal.
Players of the Peoples Elephant have been gagged by their club from speaking to the media following a report on MTNfootball.com quoting attacker Philip Auta as blaming the club managers and Abia State government for the players’ string of poor performances especially on the continent.
But Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands that the players had planned to shun their last game against Kano Pillars today in order to press for arrears of their contract fees.
An official also confirmed that the players had threatened to stay away from today’s game but had to be talked out of their plan by another official, who had been sent with a promise that the debt will be offset soon.
