Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has sealed a kit sponsorship deal with a Lagos-based company, OWU Sportswear.
The deal is to last for the next three years, Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Premier League club and sportswear firm on Wednesday at the team’s office in Jericho, Ibadan.
Shooting Stars’ chairman, Joseph Ladipo, signed for the club while Barrister Olatunji Brown, CEO of OWU led his company’s team.
3SC chairman, popularly known as Jossy Lad, described the development as a first of its kind in the history of the club.
“This is the first time I will see this kind of development since I have been with this club for more than 30 years. This is supposed to have happened last season but due to some logistic reasons, it is happening this year,” he said.
He added that the club is going to come up with a date to officially present the kits to the public.
Brown in his remark expressed his happiness to the management of the club for its cooperation in making the deal successful.
He, however, pledged to facilitate sponsorship package from corporate organisation for the club.
“The development is a process to bring back spectators to our stands, as we will embark on awareness campaign and making the jerseys available to all and sundry to purchase so that soccer fans can be wearing Shooting Stars’ replica jerseys to stadium as against wearing Chelsea’s and other European clubs’ colours to watch our league matches,” Brown said.
