One of Nigeria’s representatives in this year’s West African Football Union (WAFU) Club Cup, Niger Tornadoes, will confront Stella-Abidjan on Sunday in a return leg game in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
Striker Eugene Salami back from Europe after failing to tie down a contract with Belgian side, Westerlo, scored the winner for Tornadoes in the first meeting a fortnight ago at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna.
Salami told Naijaligue.blogspot.com that he is confident that his side is capable of reaching the next round in spite of heading into this game with a slim lead over its opponent from the first leg.
“It is going to be difficult but we are confident that we can go through,” said the former Lobi Stars’ man.
The team is expected to depart the shores of Nigeria on Saturday evening from Lagos.
Ahead of Sunday’s clash in Abidjan, coach Ladan Bosso’s side has been boosted with the return of centre-back, Promise Onuh, after his invitation to the Super Eagles for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar.
Niger Tornadoes will travel with 18 players for this tie.
