Heartland will play its last game of this year’s Orange CAF Champions League on Sunday against J.S. Kabylie of Algeria in Owerri billed to be broadcast live on SuperSport Nine from 5pm.
The Nigerian side succumbed to Al Ahly of Egypt last week 1 – 2 in Cairo and that meant the exit of last year’s losing finalists.
The World of Champions will bring full coverage of the game, which will have no significant effect on the standings of Heartland’s group, live from the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
There is the likelihood that head coach of Heartland, Samson Siasia, could make a few changes to the starting line-up that faced Al Ahly last Sunday in Cairo.
A number of key players for the Nigerian side could be left out of this game.
But the duo of Ikechukwu ThankGod and goalkeeper Austin Brown will not be part of the side that will face J.S. Kabylie.
Emeka Ezeugo, assistant to Siasia, told SuperSport that the side will be giving 100% performance in the game despite having been ousted from the tournament.
“We will still give our best to this game because it is still a competition, and by that I mean we will put in 100 per cent performance because we know there are still some incentives for winning matches. Also, we will be playing for pride,” he told the SuperSport.com.
