I’ll be leaving for Russia next week – Okonkwo

Bayelsa United right full-back, Chibuzor Okonkwo, is set to travel out of nigeria to team up with Russian club, FC Rostov.
Okonkwo, 22, told Naijaligue.blogspot.com that he is scheduled to leave for the city of Rostov.
The former Gabros International Football Club man pointed out that he will join the Russian side straight on arrival in that country.
It is, however unclear if the Russian club had concluded a deal with Okonkwo after it was reported that he had visited the club last month and was waiting to undergo medical before a deal is finalised.
“I am leaving for Russia next week. I am joining Rostov straight and not going there for trial,” said the Olympic medallist.
The Bayelsa United defender in spite of his revelation of a planned trip to Russia next week has been linked with a move to Heartland Football Club of Owerri.
Heartland team manager, Emeka Iwuagwu, had stated that the club is in talks with Okonkwo over moving over to Owerri ahead of the 2010/2011 campaign.
