Ogude snubs Molde for Valerenga

Warri Wolves’ striker, Fengor Ogude, rejected a move to join Norwegian Tippeligaen side, Molde FK, in a last-minute transfer talk to grab a deal at rival, Valerenga IF.
Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands that the striker and Molde FK failed to agree on personal terms and transfer fee on the last day of the transfer window in Europe and Valerenga IF, which had been keeping tabs on the deal, pounced for the Warri Wolves’ man.
Valerenga IF manager, Martin Andresen, told the official website of the club that the side is excited about winning the race to sign the Nigerian forward.
''We are very pleased that Fengor has joined the club. We've picked a midfield player who has good skills and he can also challenge one-on-one,” Andresen said.
It will be recalled that Ogude had been on trial at Valerenga IF last year, but was not handed a contract.
But Andresen revealed that the Norwegian club had been following the performance of the player since that trial last year.
''Fengor was on trial here last year and we have followed him for long. This is a player we have good references for and who we know well. He is a classy player but we need a little time to educate him on how we play,” he said.
Ogude goes immediately into the Valerenga IF squad and will be assigned a jersey number this week after his first workout with the team.
The striker scored nine goals for Warri Wolves last season in the Nigeria Premier League.
