Premier League kicks off October 2

The 2010/2011 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) will officially commence on October 2, SuperSport.com can reveal.
After a meeting between the Premier League and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Saturday evening in Abuja, it was resolved that the country’s top-flight division kicks in eight days across 10 centres.
SuperSport.com was informed after the meeting in Abuja that the NFF and NPL representatives reached an agreement on October 2 since the September 25 date earlier picked by the latter no longer looks feasible.
The initial date of September 25 was suspended by the troubled NFF board of Aminu Maigari after the August 26 election that has been nullified by a Federal High Court in Lagos.
The discussion of the meeting also centred on the welfare of players, referees, match commissioners and other class of officials.
