Musa to sign for VVV-Venlo next week

Nigeria Premier League (NPL) record top scorer, Ahmed Musa, is expected leave for Holland next week to officially sign for Dutch Eredivisie side, VVV-Venlo.
Owner of Aminchi Football Academy, Ibrahim Ahmed, told SuperSport.com that plans have been concluded for Musa to travel to Holland next week after the attacking winger turned 18 on Thursday.
The former Kano Pillars’ man, who scored a record 18 goals last season in the NPL, had to wait till he turned 18 after agreeing to join VVV-Venlo in the summer since European laws do not permit under17s from signing a professional contract.
Ahmed, whose team, Aminchi Football Academy loaned out Musa to Kano Pillars last term, is excited with news that VVV-Venlo are waiting to officially sign him.
“He will leave for Holland next week. But the actual day I don’t know yet because the agent has not told us. Already the VVV-Venlo people are waiting for him to come and we are happy about that,” said the teenage striker’s minder.
But Ahmed is concerned that the issue of International Transfer Certificate (ITC) could scupper Musa’s chances of going straight into the side.
The Aminchi Football Academy owner hopes that officials of VVV-Venlo will be able to sort out the issue with the Dutch FA so that the former Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) Football Club striker can join up with his new teammates.
SuperSport.com sources in Holland also confirmed on Thursday morning that there are rumours in Venlo that Musa will sign within a week of this report.
Musa will be the third Nigerian on the payroll of VVV-Venlo after the club signed up the duo of Alex Nkume and Michael Uchebo.
It is reported that the number 23 shirt has been reserved for Musa by the Dutch club.
