The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) has clamped down on Enugu Rangers for failing to adhere to rules of the league for the 2010/2011 season.
The Premier League said the Flying Antelopes violated Article 1.6 sub-section 6 of the NPL 2010/2011 rules. The Enugu club have been fined N.5 million by the Premier League and are expected to pay up before their next encounter.
"Rangers ran foul of Article 1.6 sub section 6 after a player of the side, Uche Nwafor wore a jersey with number 3 and a marker was used to add another number to the player's jersey in the game against Dolphin of Port Harcourt last week. "Rangers will therefore pay N500 000 before their next League game against Ocean Boys in Enugu," said the Premier League.
The board of the league body has equally warned all the Premier League clubs to strictly adhere to the rules of the game.
