Niger Tornadoes v Dolphins
After four trips to Minna in seven years, Dolphins have just managed to take a draw away against Niger Tornadoes. Last season in this same fixture, Tornadoes edged Dolphins by a lone goal but the Port Harcourt side will be a different prospect this season. But with the likes of Daddy Bazuaye, Chinedu Justice, Emmanuel Osita and Baba Sule among others, Tornadoes should pick all points.
Our prediction: 1 – 0

Kwara Utd v Heartland
The last time Heartland won at Kwara was on March 22, 2008 by a lone goal. Kadiri Ikhana’s men need an outright win in this game to climb away from the drop zone and into the top half of the table. But they will have to keep an eye on the duo of Osas Okoro and Bello Kofarmata, who have struck a telepathic partnership. Kwara United should take this before Heartland recover from the departure of Samson Siasia.
Our prediction: 2 – 1

Plateau Utd v Bukola Babes
This is a clash between 20th and 17th placed sides in the league. Both sides are also new additions to the top-flight this season and have struggled in their first four games. After squandering a two-goal lead at Zamfara United last week, Plateau United are in dire need to win a game or head coach, Ndubuisi Nduka, could find himself under intense pressure soon.
Our prediction: 2 – 0

Sharks v Sunshine Stars
This is going to be a match-up between the beauty and the beast. Expect Sunshine Stars to adopt their usual physical style combined with route-one football to unsettle the free-flowing approach of John Obuh’s men in this game. Ajani Ibrahim, Cletus Itodo, Ofem Inah and Ifeanyi Inyam will all be targeting their big man upfront, Ukeyima Akombo, for a result. We fancy Gbenga Ogunbote’s Stars taking points off the Blue Angels.

Gombe Utd v Ocean Boys
Former champions, Ocean Boys, have lost all four trips to Gombe since April 29, 2006. That dominance by Gombe United over Ocean Boys in their home will not change this time, as Bernard Ogbe’s side aim to climb back into the top four. We tip Gombe to win this tie in spite of playing their home games in Bauchi.
Our prediction: 1 – 0

Warri Wolves v Lobi Stars
Paul Aigbogun’s men do not need to be told that they could go top of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) this weekend if they put Lobi Stars to the sword. After winning last week away at Jos University Teaching Hospital (Juth) Football Club without Emmanuel Omodiagbe and Ehiosun Ekigho, Warri Wolves look good to take all points from this game considering the fact that they have not dropped points at home to Lobi in four years.
Our prediction: 3 – 1

Saturday, June 12, 2010
Lobi Stars 3 – 1 Warri Wolves

Kaduna Utd v Juth FC
Federation Cup or FA Cup holders, Kaduna United, are playing their best of football in recent years and we do not think The Healers will escape with a point from the Kaduna Township Stadium on Sunday. Sani Aruwa, Siman Yusuf, Jude Aneke and Femi Balogun should play roles in further putting dents on the ambitions of the Juth FC.
Our prediction: 2 – 1
Recent head-to-head
Sunday, October 26, 2008
Kaduna Utd 0 – 0 Juth FC
Saturday, March 7, 2009
Juth FC 1 – 0 Kaduna Utd

Crown FC v Kano Pillars
This is a tricky test for former champions, Kano Pillars, against one of the newcomers. Coach Salisu Yusuf knows that his side should not drop points against teams such as Crown Football Club, Bukola Babes and Plateau United if they want to keep their ambition of winning the title alive. But Crown have shown that they are no pushovers and that is why they are the best performers so far among the newcomers this season. A composed Kano Pillars can nick this.
Our prediction: 1 – 2

Enyimba v Shooting Stars
It is four years since Shooting Stars won a top-flight game against the titleholders, Enyimba. In those four years, the Oluyole Warriors have not picked a point off Enyimba in Aba and Fatai Amoo believes his side can break that duck. But it looks a daunting task for Shooting Stars. Enyimba will not want to drop points following their shock one-nil defeat by new boys, Bukola Babes, at Offa last week.
Our prediction: 1 – 0

Shooting Stars 0 – 0 Enyimba

Enugu Rangers v Zamfara Utd
Last season, Zamfara United shocked Rangers by taking a point back to their base in this same fixture. Zamfara United’s confidence will be on the high after stunning back from two goals last week against Plateau United to win 3 – 2. And do not expect too many goals from the Flying Antelopes from this game, as two men – Uche Nwofor and Ejike Uzoenyi – who add impetus to the attacking instinct of the side will not play. But Fred Okwara and co can make the difference.
Our prediction: 1 – 0
