Tornadoes ready to release Salami

Nigeria Premier League (NPL) side, Niger Tornadoes, have declared that they are willing to listen to prospective clubs willing to sign on Eugene Salami.
Chairman of the club, David Suleiman, said they are ready to open talks with rival sides in the Premier League willing to pay the asking price for the striker, who has been Tornadoes’ top scorer in the past two seasons.
Suleiman, a former executive member of the Nigeria Football Association (now Nigeria Football Federation), is also hoping that Niger Tornadoes can keep the 21-year-old striker for the 2010/2011 season, which kicks off this weekend.
“We want to keep all of our players especially the ones that did well last season. But this is always difficult when there are offers from other sides. In the case of Eugene Salami we want to keep him for the coming season, but if another club comes with the right fee then we will do business,” said Suleiman.
But the Niger Tornadoes’ chief added that his side will include a clause in the deal with any Nigerian club that eventually signs the player.
“Of course we will allow him go for the fee that we think is right. But there will be a clause in the contract that will also allow Niger Tornadoes earn money if he eventually gets a club abroad,” he disclosed.

Blue Angels tighten grip on unsettled duo

Nigeria Premier League (NPL) side, Sharks Football Club, have shut the door of attempts by the duo of Senegalese defender, Ousmane Pape Sane and Kola Anubi to leave the club.
SuperSport.com understands that Sane is highly regarded by Enugu Rangers and he has already spoken with officials of the Flying Antelopes but the Blue Angels are stalling on allowing him make the switch from the Port Harcourt club to the Enugu team.
The 26-year-old centre-back is said to be unsettled and wants to leave the club but the Blue Angels have refused and want to keep him for the coming season.
In the case of Anubi, who is known as ‘Babyface’ for his boyish looks, Kwara United came calling and Sharks FC have decided to keep him as well.
Coincidentally, Kadiri Ikhana, a former Sharks FC head coach is the man that has identified Anubi, 23, as the man that can steady the tide in Kwara United’s midfield when the NPL season kicks next Saturday.
SuperSport.com also understands that the club will even go to the length of refusing the players their clearance to join teams of their choices.
Anubi and Sane are out of contract at the Blue Angels.

‘Yaro Yaro’ keeps Kaduna Utd waiting

Ageless Kano Pillars’ attacking midfielder, Ahmed Garba popularly known as ‘Yaro Yaro,’ has kept Kaduna United guessing on whether he will accept a one-year deal before the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) 2010/2011 season kicks off on October 2.
Assistant technical adviser of the team, Dahiru Sadi, told SuperSport.com from the team’s base in Kaduna that Garba trained just twice with the team and has since not returned.
But he said Kaduna United are still expecting him to turn up before the new season gets underway in six days.
“Yaro Yaro has trained with us twice since we showed interest in him. The last time he trained with the team was last Tuesday. But he left after then saying that he wants to return to Kano to attend to personal issues. So we believe that he will return to join us again before the season starts because we are waiting for him,” Sadi said.
He also disclosed that head coach, Maurice Cooreman, who is also technical adviser, will pick his final squad for the NPL campaign by Wednesday and hand it to the club.
