Allen flays Bukola Babes' strikers

Head coach of Bukola Babes, Festus Allen (pictured), has criticised his strikers for their profligacy in Sunday's Week 13 game of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) against Crown Football Club at the Gateway International Stadium in Ilaro.
In spite of watching his side run Crown FC ragged and deservedly triumph by two-nil, Allen believes the wastefulness of his strikers is something that would be addressed before subsequent games.
"I am happy that we won here (in Ilaro), which we deserved. But we were not very sharp in front of goal because our strikers did not take most of the chances we had. I believe we should have scored two or three more goals from very good positions.
"Instead our attackers were a bit wasteful. I know this happens in football at times but we can't afford this in a competitive league. This is something we will work on before our next games because at the end of the season goals could count and it is always better to score more goals when you have the chance to do so in a game in case the rule of goals difference applies at the end of the season," Allen told SuperSport.com.
The Bukola Babes' gaffer said he has told his players to put aside the two-nil win over Crown and look ahead to this weekend's game against 2009 Caf Champions League finalists, Heartland.
"The game we won against Crown is now history. So I've told the players to look to the next game because the league is still several matches from ending. Our aim this season is to continue to do well in our remaining matches," said Allen.
