Zamfara Utd strengthen squad


Struggling Nigeria Premier League (NPL) outfit, Zamfara United, have signed 12 players to bolster their playing personnel ahead of the restart of this season's championship.
Top among the new signings are David Abidoye, who crosses over from Niger Tornadoes and Sunday Emmanuel from National Division One League side, Wikki Tourists.
SuperSport.com was also informed that the modest club signed players from Premier League rivals such as Gombe United, Lobi Stars and Kano Pillars.
Among those signed in the mid-season transfer window that closes April 15 are Emma Makadas and Chukwudi Onuigbo, both from Gombe United, as well as Arinze Nwosu from Lobi Stars and Suleiman Mohammed from Kano Pillars.
However, Zamfara United added two players from the lower league known as the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The players are Duash Makadas from Ranch Bees and Mancha Yina from Adamawa United.
Simon Julius has been elevated from Zamfara United's feeder team to join the seniors for the resumption of the Premier League.
All players signed by Zamfara United will not earn signing-on fees, it has been gathered.
Zamfara United are at present 18th on the log with 16 points from 19 matches.
