Heartland defender gets Eagles call-up


Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia, has called up Heartland centre-back, Gege Soriola (pictured), as a last-minute replacement for right-back, Yusuf Mohammed.

Mohammed is reportedly injured and will not take part in either the June 1 international friendly against Argentina or the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations against Ethiopia.

SuperSport.com was informed that Soriola will join up with the other Super Eagles players at the team's Transcorp Hilton Hotel camp in Abuja later on Monday.

"Yes I can confirm that Gege Soriola of Heartland has been called up to replace Yusuf Mohammed. I've just been informed that Mohammed is injured but I can't confirm the nature of his injury at the moment," Media officer of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ademola Olajire told SuperSport.com.
