Bukola Babes suspend Allen

Nigeria Premier League (NPL) newcomers, Bukola Babes, have temporarily axed its head coach, Festus Allen (pictured), in the wake of a string of poor results, SuperSport.com has been informed.

Allen's suspension takes effect immediately and it is also indefinite, according to a statement from the management of Bukola Babes.

Assistant coach, Kabir Sulaiman Dogo has been instructed to act in an interim capacity by the club.

Allen was handed the suspension after Bukola Babes' two-nil loss to Enugu Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.

"The Technical Adviser of Bukola Babes FC of Ilorin, Coach Festus Allen has been suspended indefinitely. And it takes effect immediately," read a statement from the club after their Week 26 game at Rangers on Wednesday.

Allen was given a three-match ultimatum, beginning from the game against Enyimba, which they lost.

Bukola Babes drew on Sunday 2-2 at home to Plateau United, and the three-game deadline ended with a loss to Rangers on Wednesday.

It is clear that Allen might not return as head coach at Bukola Babes, as SuperSport.com has learned that the club will start shopping for his replacement.
