Pillars’ keeper fears title-chasing trio

Kano Pillars goalkeeper, Sani Haliru (pictured), has admitted that it will be difficult to shake off Dolphins, Sunshine Stars and Warri Wolves for this season's Nigeria Premier League (NPL) crown.

The 27-year-old told Naijaligue.blogspot.com that four teams are in the hunt for this season's Premier League title.

He named Kano Pillars, Dolphins, Sunshine Stars and Warri Wolves as the sides aiming to finish winners this term.

But the former FA Cup winner with Lobi Stars admitted that the run in to the title will be tough.

"When you look at the table, we are behind Dolphins, Sunshine Stars and Warri Wolves. These three teams will be very difficult to overcome for the title because the season is close to its end.

"We won't give up because we are still close to them and we will fight till the end of the season. Kano Pillars have enough quality to compete till the end," Haliru told Naijaligue.blogspot.com.

Kano Pillars have four games to play to wrap up their campaign this season and two of them will be against Sunshine Stars at home and Warri Wolves on the road.

The other two will be at Niger Tornadoes and at home to Ocean Boys.

The former Nigerian champions are fourth on the log with 59 points from 34 matches and five points behind leaders, Dolphins.
