Kaduna Utd aim for Confed semis

Jude Aneke has vowed that he can fire Kaduna United into the semifinals of the Caf Confederation Cup when they face Club Africain of Tunisia on Sunday at the Kaduna Township Stadium.

But the striker knows that he and his colleagues will have to be at their best when they confront the Tunisians in a game they must win by 3 – 0.

“We still have our destiny in our hands right now because we have a good chance of qualifying for the semifinals. But we just need to go all out from the start of the game and ensure that we score three goals and not concede then we will go through,” Aneke told SuperSport.com.

"I'm also ready to give my best to make sure that we qualify for the semifinals. This is our chance to do so and I want to play a big part in doing so."

Kaduna United were battered 1 – 4 in Luanda, Angola last weekend by GD Interclube and Aneke believes that if they fail to reach the last four, then they will have themselves to blame for that huge loss.

“We have decided to put behind us that loss (to Interclube). It was a bad day but now we want to face Club Africain with a fresh mindset and believe we can beat them well to qualify for the semifinals.

“But our loss in Angola was too big and if we fail to qualify for the semifinals I think we cannot blame anybody than ourselves,” said Aneke, who has scored twice in the Caf Confederation Cup against Asec Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire and GD Interclube.

Kaduna United are currently on five points – three behind Club Africain in second place in Group A of the Caf Confederation Cup.

GD Interclube are Group A leaders with 10 points and have reached the semis but will be away to Asec Mimosas on match day six on Sunday.
