Ocean Boys head coach, Samson Unuanel is said to be very concerned ahead of his side's Federation Cup semifinal game against Enyimba this Sunday in Benin City.
Players of the former Nigeria Premier League (NPL) winners have been on a warning strike since last week, SuperSport.com has been informed.
Ocean Boys' players have stopped training under Unuanel and have been doing sessions on their own.
Unuanel is said to be worried that his players might be unfit after several days of no team training and bonding.
A source close to Unuanel disclosed that the coach has made it clear that if Ocean Boys are beaten by Enyimba in the cup then he should not be blamed.
"The coach of course is worried that his team might lose the game because they have not trained together since last week. The players are on strike but most of them have been training on their own.
"So the coach is not happy and does not want to be blamed if the team lose to Enyimba. You know Unuanel is a former coach of Enyimba and knows what they are capable of coming up with (in terms of quality on the pitch)," our source said.
A player of the club told SuperSport.com that Ocean Boys owe them contract fees for the past three years.
The player also said on condition of anonymity that the club has promised to offset part of the contract fees by noon on Friday.
But the player added that failure to pay up could further deepen the revolt at Ocean Boys, as some of his colleagues have threatened to boycott Sunday's cup semis against Enyimba.
"We have not been paid three years of our signing-on fees. But the club management said they will pay us by tomorrow (Friday) around 12pm. So we will be waiting.
"But if we don't get paid then some of us might not play that game. This poor treatment has to stop," the player said.
Ocean Boys won the Federation Cup when it was known as the FA Cup in 2008.
They defeated Gombe United 7-6 on penalties after open play of 120 minutes ended 2-2.
