Sharks, have placed six of their players on the transfer market, as the 2010/2011 season in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) draws close to an end.
SuperSport.com was informed by a top official of the club that the names of the six players were forwarded to the management of the team following their failure to meet the standards set for them during the season.
But the official refused to give the names of the players citing that “we need to protect them from being considered not good enough so that they will be able to secure another contract elsewhere.”
However, findings by SuperSport.com revealed that three top players of the Blue Angels are among those placed on transfer ahead of the end of this season.
The trio include Ifeanyi Esobe, Ejike Pascal and Ebitimi Agogo while the others are fringe players, who have struggled to make the first team at Sharks throughout this season.
It has also been learnt that the clear out is in preparation for the 2011/2012 season, as the coaching personnel at Sharks is out to improve its playing personnel in a bid to challenge in the Premier League.
Sharks currently occupy seventh position in the NPL standings with 56 points.
The Blue Angels will face Kwara United, Crown FC and Kaduna United in their last three games of this season.
