Wolves will win title next term – Omodiagbe

Midfield enforcer, Emmanuel Omodiagbe, has tipped his side, Warri Wolves to win the 2011/2012 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season.

Warri Wolves finished third in the final standings behind Dolphins and Sunshine Stars in that order but Omodiagbe believes it is an improved performance compared to the 2009/2010 season when they ended up in sixth place.

“In 2009/2010 season I was not part of this team,” began the defensive midfielder in an interview with SuperSport.com. “But this season most people have seen that we are capable of holding our own against any team and now we are regarded as one of the top four teams in the country.”

The former Heartland man further said the playing personnel of Warri Wolves are looking forward to featuring in the 2012 Caf Confederation Cup.

He believes that the Warri-based side have got enough quality to compete in Africa’s second tier club competition next year.

“I am happy that we qualified for the Caf Confederation Cup. My teammates are also excited by this achievement. No doubt it is always a big competition and we will be very ready to give our best because we have some of the very best players in the country playing in our team,” Omodiagbe said.
