Allen in pole position for 3SC job

COD United head coach, Festus Allen has emerged as the frontrunner to succeed Fatai Amoo at Nigeria Premier League (NPL) side, 3SC.

A top official of the club hinted SuperSport.com late Friday that Allen is favoured ahead of other shortlisted candidates such as Austin Eguavoen, Monday Odigie and Alphonsus Dike.

The 3SC official also explained that the club sampled the opinions of some experts in the NPL and more than 75 percent of them are favourably disposed to seeing Allen take charge of the Oluyole Warriors for the 2011/2012 season.

It is also understood that 3SC might appoint a new coach this weekend or early next week.

“Yes Festus Allen is the favourite at the moment to get the head coach job at 3SC. But nothing has been concluded yet I must tell you. He is just a favoured candidate ahead of the likes of Austin Eguavoen and Alphonsus Dike because of his achievement at Bukola Babes last season coupled with the fact that he has shown that he can work magic with young and unknown players and turn them into big stars like he did while at Bukola Babes,” the official explained to SuperSport.com.

“At the moment nothing has been concluded with any of the coaches including Festus Allen. But it is most likely that 3SC will name their coach for next season today (Saturday) or tomorrow (Sunday) and at the latest next week.”

The new coach of the club is expected to start work immediately after being appointed ahead of their matchday one game in the 2011/2012 season against Sharks.
