Aneke gets off the mark for Wolves

Nigeria Premier League (NPL) record top scorer, Jude Aneke, has started his career at Warri Wolves on a bright note.

Warri Wolves defeated Lobi Stars 2-1 in a Week Four game.

Aneke, 21, scored the winning goal for Wolves to earn them their first full points of this season.

Lobi Stars stunned the home fans at the Warri City Stadium when Lazarus Chukwu's goal made sure Lobi Stars got off to a flying start.

Chukwu scored inside seven minutes but Uruemu Egbeta drew Wolves level on 15 minutes.

Aneke, who played from start to finish, got the winner for Wolves with 11 minutes left to play for.

The striker headed home a rebound after Egbeta's effort came off the upright.

"I'm happy to have scored in my first game for Warri Wolves. Hopefully I will continue to score for them in subsequent games because that is important," Aneke told SuperSport.com.

The forward joined Warri Wolves from Kaduna United in a one-year deal.

Last season, Aneke became the first player to score 20 goals in a single NPL season.
