Maurice joins Gombe Utd

Defender Chigozie Maurice (pictured) has completed a move to Gombe United, SuperSport.com can report.

Maurice was in the books of struggling Jigawa Golden Stars but last week opted to pen a short-term deal that will see him play at Gombe United till the end of this season.

The former Kano Pillars' centre-back told SuperSport.com: "Yes I have signed for Gombe United and the contract will be till the end of this season. They are a big club and they have done well so far this season, and I am excited with the prospect of playing for them for the remaining part of the season.

"I was approached (by Gombe United) and after talks I saw the need to sign for them as they are also an ambitious side."

Maurice has been handed jersey number 26 by his new club.

But the defender was unavailable to make his debut for Gombe United on Wednesday when they played hosts to 3SC at the Pantami Stadium.
