Ofoedu leads with 10 goals

Enugu Rangers' teenage striker, Chikeluba Ofoedu (pictured) has become the leading scorer in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) and the first player to hit double figures this term. He told SuperSport.com: "It's a dream come true that I've scored ten goals in my first season in the Premier League. I want to continue winning with my team and scoring goals to help them win games."

After Matchday 20, Rangers remain top of the standings, as the battle for the NPL title continues. Here's a round up on the matches of Wednesday and Thursday:

Dolphins 3 – 0 Wikki Tourists
Champions, Dolphins played their way into third place with a comfortable 3-0 win. Goals from Azeez Shobowale, Adamu Mohammed and Victor Michael gave the Tourists no chance of leaving Port Harcourt with a point.

Niger Tornadoes 1 – 0 Warri Wolves
It was a late strike from unsettled Sibi Gwar that gave Tornadoes all the points against Wolves, who have dropped out of the top ten of the standings. Tornadoes have 25 points and sit in 18th place - six spots below Wolves.

Kaduna United 2 – 0 Kano Pillars
Abdullahi Yau's brace was just enough to undo Kano Pillars and ensure that they lost top spot. Kaduna United are now in 13th position on 29 points while Pillars dropped from first to fourth with 36 points.

Enugu Rangers 5 – 0 Jigawa Golden Stars
The biggest winners of the matchday, Rangers dumped Jigawa Stars five-nil. They had five different scorers in Efe Yarhere, Ifeanyi Ede, Chikeluba Ofoedu, Ambrose Onyema and Ejike Uzoenyi. Rangers lead on 40 points - two more than second placed Enyimba. The Golden Stars are in the bottom four.

Enyimba 1 – 0 3SC
The People's Elephants needed a solitary strike from Super Eagles' forward, Uche Kalu to take the three points against 3SC. The loss leaves 3SC in the bottom half of the log on 29 points and just two above the drop zone.

ABS FC 1 – 3 Sharks
Sharks recorded their first win on the road this term. Winger Gomo Onduku did a solo on the back line of ABS to score the opener for John Obuh's men and Thompson Stowe and Bright Ejike got the insurance goals before Andrew Abalogu's consolation for ABS, who are now a place above the relegation line. Sharks are in the top eight on 33 points.

Gombe United 2 – 1 Rising Stars
Rising Stars are bottom of the NPL table on 22 points after a 1-2 loss to Gombe United. Sani Gidado and Haruna Babalo got the goals for Gombe United and Dayo Ojo converted from the spot for Rising Stars. Gombe United are in the top five but with five points behind leaders, Rangers.

Kwara United 1 – 0 Lobi Stars
Kabiru Sanusi's goal inside the opening 15 minutes turned out to be the only goal of this tight contest in Ilorin. Lobi are in sixth place on 33 points and United are five places below on 31 points.

Sunshine Stars 1 – 0 Akwa United
In spite of having six of their players trapped in the crossfire in Bamako, Mali, Sunshine Stars put up a decent display to edge Akwa United by a goal. Striker Izu Azuka's first half goal sealed the points for the Akure Gunners who are now in tenth place. Akwa United are on 33 points and in seventh position.
