Rangers resigned to losing Ofoedu

Nigeria Premier League (NPL) leaders, Enugu Rangers are bracing up to finish the season without influential striker, Chikeluba Ofoedu.

Ofoedu has scored ten goals this term in the league campaign and is currently trying out at Norwegian top flight outfit, Rosenborg BK.

The striker has already impressed officials at Rosenborg BK and could earn himself a contract after his trials.

Rangers' head coach, Okey Emordi believes his team can soldier on without their leading scorer so far this term.

"Chikeluba is a fantastic player. He gives us a lot of dimension on the field. Before he left I've used him as a top striker, support striker and even winger. He's a player we will miss no doubt but we can cope without him as we have other strikers," Emordi said.

Table-topping Rangers will rely on other strikers like Efe Yarhere, Ifeanyi Ede and Oghogho Oduokpe to help end a 28-year wait for their first domestic title.

The Flying Antelopes lead the Nigerian top flight on 52 points and are expected to face Niger Tornadoes in the coming mid-week.
