Olorundare: The Buffalo

He finished the first round of the NPFL this season as the leading scorer on 11 goals.

A few of his fans call him Buffalo because of his power-playing style similar to that of the two-horned African bull.

He is also called the new Rashidi Yekini because of his power-packed shots, lethal finishing, big frame and bulldozing play.

But Dele Olorundare (pictured) does not want any of such comparisons as he wants to be himself.

He is also targeting a 25-goal return in the league this season and if he achieves that he will become the first to score beyond 20 goals in a season in the Nigerian top flight.

"My target is to score 25 goals but if I achieve that I don't think I'll like to be called the new Rashidi Yekini as I've not achieved anything yet. I'll prefer to be called Dele Olorundare," said the Sunshine Stars striker with a tone of humility in his voice.

Already Olorundare has scored 42 league goals since joining Sunshine Stars in 2009 but his dreams remain winning the NPFL title and playing for the Super Eagles soon.

Olorundare is among 19 players called up for the African Nations Championship (Chan) qualifier against Ivory Coast next month.
