The Predictor tags matchday 26 as dicey

It is going to be a demanding matchday for teams in the top six and bottom six. I envisaged some tight results and in others one-man wins.

August 17, 2013
3SC v Bayelsa United (Lekan Salami Stadium)
This is surely going to be a real battle as 3SC now find themselves in the bottom four. United also know they're just close to claiming top spot for the first time this season.

In spite of their inconsistent run and this game holding behind closed doors, I'll go for a 3SC win.

My prediction: 2 – 0

August 18, 2013
Sharks v Lobi Stars (Sharks Stadium)
The Blue Angels seem to have turned the corner for the first time and have now gone four games without a loss. But this clash with Lobi Stars still presents them with a dogfight.

I don't think Lobi will stop this Sharks now in their imperious form. The Blue Angels will stretch their run to five unbeaten games.

My prediction: 2 – 1

Nasarawa United v Kwara United (Lafia Township Stadium)
In the last six rounds of matches, Nasarawa United have not win a game which sums up their free fall. Now at the base of the log, they come up against Kwara United.

The Solid Miners won the first clash this term by a Ugochukwu Leonard goal. I don't think Nasarawa United will do the double on Kwara United.

My prediction: 1 – 2

ABS v Wikki Tourists (Kwara State Stadium)

I still don't know how the Tourists will escape the fall this season with their poor away form. For certain ABS won't do them any favours in Ilorin this Sunday.

ABS have enough quality in their squad to nick this though I fancy Wikki to make it a tough game for them.

My prediction: 1 – 0

Sunshine Stars v Kano Pillars (Akure Township Stadium)

Kano Pillars' dominance at the top looks in danger going into this tie. The Kano club have faltered in the big games on the road and this, for me, won't be an exception.

If Dele Olorundare features in this contest, I'm banking on him to lead the assault on Pillars who will be without their first-choice goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai.

My prediction: 3 – 0

Heartland v Dolphins (Dan Anyiam Stadium)

Dolphins have lost their last two matches including Wednesday's 1-2 loss to city rivals, Sharks. Heartland have not done well themselves with just one win in seven games on the spin.

The Naze Millionaires have not dropped points in this corresponding fixture in the last 10 years but this time Dolphins known as the Pride of Rivers will leave Owerri with a point.

My prediction: 1 – 1

Enugu Rangers v Gombe United (Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium)

It's not the best of times for Rangers. They have struggled lately and even at home. But they will get the job done. Gombe United have done nothing on the road all season.

My prediction: 3 – 1

Enyimba v Kaduna United (Enyimba Sports Stadium)

Enyimba! Enyimba! Enyimba! Who will score in Aba is now the big puzzle. Kaduna United don't like that team for me. With players like Chinedu Udoji, Rasheed Olabiyi, Femi Thomas, Bright Esieme and Bala Mohammed I wonder how Kaduna United can score.

Kaduna United have not won a point on the road - reason I won't bet against the two-time Caf Champions League winners.

My prediction: 3 – 0

Nembe City v Warri Wolves (Samson Siasia Stadium)

Wolves head into this game without a win in three straight games. And it's easy to pick out that Oghenekaro Etebo has struggled to get in the groove.

City's trip to El-Kanemi asked so much of them. Wolves will avoid defeat in this.

My prediction: 0 – 0

Akwa United v El-Kanemi Warriors (Uyo Township Stadium)

El-Kanemi make a very long trip from the northeast to the south-south. I expect Mfon Udoh, Emmanuel Enize and Son Hingir to do the job if they play in this game. I think it will be a high-scoring match.

My prediction: 3 – 2
