Nigerian international goalkeeper, Chigozie Agbim [pictured above], is expected to start in goal for Glo Premier League side, Gombe United when they face Akwa United this Sunday.

Naijaligue.blogspot.com has learned that Agbim is one of the two goalkeepers selected for the trip to Uyo to face Akwa United in a Week 1 game of the Glo Premier League.

Ahmed Yusuf has been picked ahead of the trio of Segun Fatunwase, Umar mai Jalingo and Danjuma Hussaini who have all been left behind in Gombe by head coach, Maurice Cooreman.

Cooreman had told supersport.com last month why he moved to sign the Super Eagles goalkeeper stating that his experience "will boost our quest for honours this term."

“Agbim’s experience as first choice will boost our quest for honours this term.

“I know him very well and he’s a special goalkeeper. Moreover, he was in goal for Nigeria at the Chan.

“Agbim was my goalkeeper at defunct NPA (in 2005) and we re-united at Warri Wolves (in 2012),” the Belgian had told supersport.com.

Agbim joined Gombe United in February after a period of inactivity at Enugu Rangers last season.

He was in goal in all of Nigeria's six matches at the 2014 African Nations Championship (Chan) in South Africa, where they finished in third.
