No Burial Date For Tabor Yet

Contrary to reports that the burial arrangement for Bayelsa United captain, Abiel Tabor, may have been fixed for July 3, the management of the Premier League champion has announced that no date has been picked yet.
Chairman of the club, Victor Baribote Rumson, told naijaligue.blogspot.com that the Bayelsa United has been in constant contact with the club over the arrangement for the late player’s funeral rites and no concrete date has been set yet.
He said that though a tentative date of July 3 was fixed for the burial, it had to be put off since Bayelsa United is still engaged in the Federation Cup.
Bayelsa United is set to face five-time Premier League winner, Enyimba, on Saturday (today) at the Uyo Township Stadium.
“It is not possible to set the burial for July 3 because we are still in the Federation Cup and we are due to face Enyimba this Saturday. If the burial holds on July 3, then no one would attend from the club. We don’t want that because we have been discussing regularly with members of his family and they are really giving us cooperation,
The funeral arrangement for late captain of Bayelsa United, Abiel Tabor, may have been moved forward, as it was earlier scheduled for July 3.
Rumson added that the club and the family cannot pick a date yet, as it is hoping for a space in the busy schedule of Bayelsa United to hold the funeral.
“We want to give our late captain, a befitting and full burial rite. He served the club well and he was a favourite among the fans of the club. So, we have a busy schedule and we have put his family in the picture of things and we just hope that we can get a window of opportunity from our tight schedule that includes the Federation Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup so that his burial can hold,” Rumson pointed out.
