The management of Nigeria Premier League side, Heartland Football Club, is reportedly in talks with two foreign-based players, Obinna Nwaneri and Felix Ogbuke (not a blood brother of Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke).
Team manager of the club, Emeka Iwuagwu, confirmed to Naijaligue.blogspot.com late Thursday night that discussions with the players’ representatives have reached advanced stage and a deal would likely be sealed by next week for the duo.
“We have not signed them yet, but we are still talking to their agents and hopefully we should be able to conclude with them by next week and by then we will have a clearer picture of things,” he disclosed.
Nwaneri, 28, who was part if the Super Eagles to the last Africa Cup of Nations in Angola earlier this year, has hardly figured in the side of Switzerland club, FC Sion.
But 24-year-old Ogbuke last played for Hakoah Amidar Ramat Gan of Israel and made 10 appearances.
