Two former players of Premier League clubs in Nigeria were in the news in Tunisia for scoring in their club’s victory on Wednesday evening.
Last season’s top scorer in the Premier League, Akarandut Orok, formerly of Akwa United and Uchenna Agba, who switched from Heartland Football Club this year, netted for Club Sportive Sfaxien (CSS) against EGS GAFSA in a three-nil triumph at Sfaxien.
Orok scored twice inside three minutes on 35 and 38 minutes before Agba completed the rout three minutes after the restart.
Agba was, however, substituted 10 minutes before the end of regulation time while Orok played for 90 minutes.
The triumph leaves the club of the two players on fifth in the Tunisian league log, but 17 points behind leader, Esperance Sportive de Tunis (EST).
In spite of the massive points difference on the Esperance, Orok is happy with his contribution to his side’s 3 – 0 victory on Wednesday.
He told Naijaligue.blogspot.com exclusively that he wants to score more goals to help his side climb further up on the log of the Tunisian league before the season ends next month.
“I feel great and I give God all the glory because he answered our prayers (for this game against EGS GAFSA). For this season I want to help my team finish the league well and have a good standing on the table by working harder and scoring more goals by God’s grace.
The club of the two Nigerians would face Club Africain in Sunday’s semi-final of the Tunisia Cup.
