Defender of CAPS United, Method Mwanjali, would not face Warri Wolves in the CAF Confederation Cup scheduled to hold at the Warri City Stadium on Sunday.
Mwanjali would miss Sunday’s game for picking up two yellow cards in previous matches.
The captain of the Zimbabwe home-based national team has been the most consistent performer since the start of the CAF Confederation Cup campaign for his side.
But the CAPS United man, who can play in midfield, is part of the 18-man side that arrived in Nigeria on Thursday in spite of being suspended.
Already, CAPS United head coach, Lloyd Chitembwe, knows that the contribution of the utility man would be missed on Sunday in Warri, as he is regarded as the fulcrum of the Zimbabwean club.
"We have never depended on individuals. We have depended mainly on the team, and of course there is no doubt about the key role that some players play and it is very sad that we will miss Method.
"The reason why I brought him here is for him to analyse the game from outside because he will play an important role for us in the return leg. But I think we will be able to cope without him,’’ Chitembwe said.
It now means that CAPS United captain, Nyasha Mukumbi and Blessing Mazorodze would partner in the central defence in Mwanjali’s absence.
In a related development, CAPS United trained for the first time on the artificial turf of the Warri City Stadium on Friday morning.
