Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) is hoping to strike a common front with sister club, Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso, in the coming season.
Crown FC just won a ticket to feature in next season’s Premier League campaign, and the general manager of Shooting Stars, Mutiu Adepoju, is angling to build a relationship between his club and the top-flight newcomer.
Adepoju wants supporters of Shooting Stars and Crown FC to unite ahead of the coming season to ensure cooperation between the two Oyo State-owned clubs.
He also commended the efforts of Crown FC for booking a place in the Premier League, which has brought to two the number of clubs from Oyo State .
This was contained in a congratulatory letter signed by Adepoju, who described the development as welcome and long overdue considering the standard and quality of the team.
“With absolute joy in our heart, we welcome our sister club, Crown FC to the elite cadre of the Nigerian League, and we wish to use this opportunity to commend the efforts of their management as well as the Oyo State government for its support,” the Nigeria ex-international noted.
The former Nigeria international added that he is looking forward to the state derby between Shooting Stars and Crown FC, which has always been tough over the years and hopes that fans of both clubs will make such ties memorable in the history of the Nigerian league.
