Premier League defending champion, Enyimba, is running scared that its side might suffer from fatigue when the Super Four kicks off today in Ijebu-Ode, Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands.
An influential player of the team told our correspondent on condition of anonymity that his team-mates are already complaining of the fixture congestion that the side has had to endure in the past one week, and could face same in the coming days.
The Peoples Elephant will be featuring in its second game in the space of four days, and the player feels that the clogging of fixtures is telling on the Aba side ahead of the Super Four.
“Throughout the season, we have had to face the same problem. We have had some of our matches postponed because we were playing in the (CAF) Confederation Cup and the league at the same time. At the end of the season, we even faced a difficult fixture pattern because of the FA Cup and that cost us so much.
“Now we will play just four days after featuring in the Confederation Cup. But we don’t have a choice now because we are professional footballers and this is what we do for a living. I just hope that this will be addressed in future,” he said.
